Fitness Classes

Gerries offers two aerobic rooms with over 25 classes held each week. 

 All classes are taught by certified instructors (ACE, AFAA, NDEITA)

Class Descriptions:

CARDIO BLAST NEW 1 hour cardio only workout.  A great calorie burner to kick your metabolism into gear.  Non-stop movements that incorporate a little of everything:  Boxing, kicks, step, and high intensity aerobic sequences.  Standing cool down and stretches complete this workout.
ADULT FITNESS

Challenging one hour cardio workout.  Strength conditioning is enhanced through the use of resistance equipment such as:  Free weights, exertubes, and exerbands.  Classes are structured to provide students the opportunity to work at their own level of aerobic fitness.

BODYSCULPT

This popular 45 minutes class provides the new exerciser with an introduction to fitness. Class format will improve stamina, muscle tone, strength, and can be used as a supplement to any cardiovascular program.

PRIME LIFE FITNESS

This one hour BI-weekly class is offered the mature adult (50+) or anyone starting an entry level (50+) program.  Emphasis is placed on improving general well being, increased flexibility and circulation, improve joint range of motion, and help reduce the factors leading to heart disease and diabetes.  The atmosphere is light, providing a social environment of friendship.

STEP

One hour class that incorporates warm-up, strength training, a 25 minute step segment using simplified patterns with moderate to heavy intensity, followed by some floorwork and cool-down.

BOXERCIZE

Punch, Kick, and Block your way to a better body!  Strengthen your upper body and get a great cardio workout.  Basic boxing techniques are emphasized.  This class is for an intermediate to advanced student.

POWER I.T.

Interval and circuit training has been proven to burn fat and tone muscles effectively.  This class will alternate aerobic and strength training work (weights, exertubes, exerbands, jump-ropes, etc) and will include abdominal work.  Try it as an alternative cross-training workout.

IMPECCABLE ABS

This addition to the class schedule is FREE to any member of Gerries Fitness Center.  It will be offered three times a week for those people looking to improve their midsection, and also strengthen the lower back

HATHA YOGA

The ancient practice of Yoga has long been regarded as an effective way of relieving emotional stress, curing body ills, and achieving personal equilibrium.  Join Michelle Fisher (Integral Yoga Certified Instructor) as she teaches you the science of breathing meditation and expands on the techniques of Hatha Yoga.  (ADDITIONAL FEE)

KARATE Traditional Japanese Martial Arts class offering: Jui-Jitsu, Kids Karate, and Self Defense.  (Introduction to the Martial Arts)  Start on your path to fitness, health, self confidence, and discipline with black belt instructors: Rico Nuss, Eric Feussner, and Danny Mainiero.  Certified by National Martial Arts Association
